Lynn McLeod is an avid adventurer and accomplished businesswoman. Her adventures began after her high school graduation in a small town in rural Northeast Texas. More than sixty countries and a successful business career later, Lynn has created a book that connects teens and adults.
From Simms to Zanzibar: What They Didn’t Tell Me About Success in High School and I Didn’t Know to Ask was conceived after Lynn’s inspiring commencement address as an alumna of James Bowie High School in Simms, Texas. She and her brother, James Garrett, were honored by the school in 2008 with the Distinguished Alumni Award.
Lynn’s Notes, at the end of the book, are enlightening, enthusiastic and entertaining. Loaded with the nuggets and gems that are the core of common sense and the ahas of life, she has created keepers for all ages—many of which you wish someone had revealed before the school of hard knocks had reared its head: Enjoy your youth—it only happens once in your life…A day without laughter is like a ski day without snow… Be Yourself–everyone else is taken.
